Golden Ears Provincial Park, one of the most popular parks in British Columbia, offers excellent hiking/walking trails. The University of British Columbia's Malcolm Knapp Research Forest also has an extensive network of hiking/walking trails through this pristine, forested environment. Grant Narrows Regional Park, Kanaka Creek Regional Park, and the vast array of dyke trails throughout Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows also provide excellent hiking, walking, and wildlife viewing opportunities. And don't forget about the "Ridge Meadows" section of the Trans Canada Trail, a 21.5 km portion of this famous national trail that meanders through both communities.
